During the 18th century there once live a rather remarkable individual in France who is considered today to be the father of modern criminology. Eugene Vidocq lived his life by one philosophy, in order to catch a criminal, you had to be able to think like one. Which was fortunate in his case, because on top of being the first modern detective, Vidocq was also a wanted criminal.
